Julia Jensen Smolka graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997, and attended Loyola University of Chicago’s Law School (2000). She practices in the areas of commercial law, condominium law, construction litigation and bankruptcy.

Julia frequently represents businesses and individuals as debtors in reorganizations and debt restructuring. Additionally, she represents creditors by protecting their rights when navigating the bankruptcy system. Julia also has substantial experience in representing lenders in lien disputes and commercial collection, as well as contractors and homeowners in construction and mechanic’s lien litigation. Julia also represents condominium and homeowners’ associations in litigation, collection, negotiations with vendors and disputes with utilities and municipalities.

Julia is an active alumni of Loyola University, an active fundraiser, a member of the Dean’s Circle, and is the chair of the Michael J. Perona Memorial Scholarship. She is also a member of the Justinian Society of Lawyers, the Illinois Bar Foundation and the Illinois Bar Association, where she serves as an elected assembly representative and is appointed to the Bar Association’s Commercial Banking and Bankruptcy Law Section. Julia also serves as a board member of the Senior Assistance Center in Norridge, Illinois. Julia has been with Di Monte & Lizak, LLC since 2000.
