Adam J. Poteracki
Adam J. Poteracki specializes in the areas of banking and finance law, real estate law and estate planning and administration, but has a diverse background that also includes civil litigation and bankruptcy. His broad experience allows Adam to identify and resolve issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Primarily a transactional attorney, Adam advises lenders, borrowers, sellers, buyers, lessors and lessees in the structuring and closing of a wide variety of business and personal transactions. He represents financial institutions, businesses, and individuals in purchases, sales, asset-based financing and development of commercial, industrial and residential real estate, equipment and other assets. In connection with those matters, he also guides clients in the formation, documentation and maintenance of corporations, limited liability companies, series limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships, and other business entities. Adam strives to provide cost-effective and deal-effective solutions for his clients at every step of the transaction.
Adam also represents individuals, families, businesses and financial institutions in estate and trust matters. He has represented numerous clients in estate planning, business succession trust matters. He has represented numerous clients in estate planning, business succession planning and administration of decedent’s estates, as well as guardianships for disabled individuals and minors, probate litigation, trust litigation and probate citation proceedings. Adam understands that the best outcomes in estate and trust matters often require a mix of zealous representation and pragmatic mediation.
Adam is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.B.A., Management, 2004) and the University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., with honors, 2007). At Wisconsin, he was a recipient of the State Bar of Wisconsin Academic Achievement Award for highest achievement in both Secured Transactions and Trademarks. Adam is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and in Wisconsin and frequently advises clients regarding cross-border legal issues.
