ANTHONY B. FERRARO, BS, MSTax, CPA, JD merged his law practice of 28 years into the firm of Di Monte & Lizak, LLC, in 2016.
As an Elder Law attorney, Mr. Ferraro focuses on Elder Law, which combines “senior” estate planning, disability planning, long term care planning, and nursing home contracts and admissions, special needs planning, governmental benefits planning such as VA benefits, Medicaid asset protection planning and Medicaid eligibility, Medicare eligibility, and estate and trust administration. Mr. Ferraro concentrates his elder law practice in Senior Estate Planning; Alzheimer’s Long Term Care Planning; Longer Term Care Pre-planning; Wait & See and Crisis Planning; Medicaid Asset Protection Planning & Medicaid Application Filing; Nursing Home Application and Contract Negotiation and Admissions; VA Benefits Planning; Special Needs Planning.
As an Estate and Trust attorney Mr. Ferraro plans and administers the estates of clients, the impact of the client’s dispositive wishes, asset protection planning, estate and income tax minimization, as well as the orderly and efficient administration of trusts and estates after death. Mr. Ferraro is also able to assist in Traditional Estate Planning, Wills & Trusts; Guardianship; Probate, Estate & Trust Administration; and Estate & Gift Tax Planning and Filing Matters.
Mr. Ferraro is a frequent guest speaker on a variety of topics ranging from elder law, asset protection, and estate and trust law. He most frequently presents to various Illinois bar association’s and the healthcare community, especially for those in the field of nursing, social work and long-term care. Mr. Ferraro is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a past-President of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and a charter member of the panel of participating attorneys for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). He is also a past member of the commercial faculty of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and is a current member of the commercial panel of the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Ferraro is a member of the Elder Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association, and a member of the Elder Counsel, Wealth Counsel and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Mr. Ferraro graduated from De Paul University College of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 1973; he graduated from De Paul University School of Commerce in 1976 with an MS in Taxation; he became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Illinois in 1978; and graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the DePaul University College of Law in 1983.
